Doulton SS2 Stainless Steel Gravity Water Filter
Product Description
The Doulton SS gravity filter is made from high grade polished stainless steel, and is a portable, robust model which is easy to keep hygienically clean. The SS is very popular with disaster relief organizations, campers, and for everyday home use. It requires no electricity, and does not need to be connected to home plumbing. It is a complete and self contained water filtration system.
The SS model comes standard with the following:
- Stainless steel unit
- 2 Doulton 7" ceramc SuperSterasyl filters
- Optional Filter Choices: Doulton 7" Imperial ceramic filters
- Optional Fluoride filters
- Spigot
The Doulton SS model holds 2.25 gallons of filtered water. When assembled it stands 19" tall and is 8.5" in diameter. The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 13" in height. This system can hold up to 2 ceramic filters.
The Doulton SS is easy to use. The water you would like to filter is poured in the top chamber where the ceramic filters are installed. Gravity pushes the water through the filters and clean water is stored in the bottom chamber. If kept topped up, this system can filter approximately 12 to 15 Gallons (95-115 liters) per day using 7" slimline filters.
Doulton Ceramic Filters have been manufacturered in England since 1827. The outer ceramic Sterasyl shell is made of diatomaceous earth with silver incorporated into the ceramic structure to prevent bacterial grow through and makes the filter self-sterilizing. Underneath the ceramic shell is granular activated carbon to reduce chlorine, organics, VOC's, and remove foul tastes and odors. Ceramic filters can be cleaned when the flow rate starts to slow down by using a scotch brite pad or brush under running water.
Each 7" Doulton slimline filter will last up to 535 gallons (1070 for a set of two) before requiring replacement.
Each 7" Doulton Imperial filter will last up to 1000 gallons (2000 for a set of two) before requiring replacement.
A set of 2 fluoride filters will last for approximately 800 gallons.

Fluoride: The ceramic filters will not remove fluoride. However, optional fluoride filters can be added to this system. They screw onto the stems of the ceramic filters, and when installed will be hanging below the top chamber.

Water tastes great!

I've been looking for a filter just like this one! The only thing I had to get used to was how slowly the water filtered through. I almost called Doulton thinking I received a defective product until it occured to me that that's how long it should take to filter water through two ceramic and tel flouride filters. Once you get a system down it works great! Oh! And I LOVE that it doesn't rely on electricity, waste water, or affect water pressure like RO systems do. I am getting one for my mom next!

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my filter. My only source of drinking water is from the municipal system. They use a local lake as their source for water. Back last fall the lake turned over and the water was horrid for over a week. Many people got sick from the water, but the city's response was it was too expensive to put in preventative measures to prevent this from happening each year and the water would clear up within a week. That was the final straw for me. For years I had not been able to drink the tap water as it made my stomach sour everytime I took a drink. Many times our house has smelled strongly of chlorine when we turned the faucet on. Water is not suppose to be like this. I found your filter advertised on a survival website and was intrigued by it. At first, it seemed to be a little bit too expensive for me to purchase. But, when I added up what I was spending on bottled water for drinking each day, I realized I could pay for this filter within a couple of months. I bit the bullit and made the purchase. This was the best decision I ever made. My water has absolutely no taste or after flavors. I am able to pour myself a glass of water and drink it without my stomach becoming upset. It reminds me of the water I drank when I was a little girl. To say the least, I am very pleased with the results, and my coffee has never tasted so good. Thank you for such a quality product and I will never tire of recommending the filter to anyone who will listen to me.

Water Like It Should Be

For years I have not been able to drink the water coming from my tap. Even with a local hardware store filter, I could not drink it without my stomach becoming upset. Since using this filter, I have not had one single problem with my stomach. My water is refreshing, clean and without any taste as water should be. I wish I had found this filter years ago. THANK YOU!

The Doulton filters are the only way to ensure we are drinking good water. Relying on community water systems is not the way to go anymore. These units will give you clean water and save all the hassles of bottled water, which by the way is unregulated as to whats in it.

i got this as a backup so i have water in the event of martial law or whatever. i have a pool so it should clean that water and i have a well and it should clean that. i have it in my fridge. nice setup but i havent put bad or suspect water in the top yet to test it.
